"PLANT A TREE FORWARD? " - CAMPAIGN

Thank you for signing in to the left in the "Sign In " tab. The natural world thanks you even more. You can scroll to the bottom to view all of the names of people who have signed the campaign. And please don't foget to read the great information along the way.

Just imagine what a park would look like with 1,000 NEW TREES!!! Imagine the shade is would provide for you and the homes it would create for birds and other wildlife. All the while we are reducing the toxic carbon footprints from the air we breathe each second.

Please refer a friend or a dozen if you can. Think of it as planting it all forward for our future. Thank you all, and lets see how many trees you are going to make me plant in one year!

Here are the GREAT things you have done by allowing me to plant a tree in your name.

1.) You have created a viable ecosystem for wildlife to live in.

2.) You have expanded an ever shrinking habitat where wild creatures are forced to fight over new places. Now they will have food, shelter and protection for their survival.

3.) Planting along a stream or river holds the topsoil intact preventing soil erosion causing turbidity (cloudiness) in the water possibly choking out aquatic wildlife by reducing the dissolved oxygen needed.

4.) You helped maintain nice and fresh water for all forms of life to drink and enjoy. Trees act as natural pollution filters. Their canopies, trunks, roots, and associated soil and other natural elements of the landscape filter polluted particulate matter out of the flow toward the storm sewers. Reducing the flow of stormwater reduces the amount of pollution that is washed into a drainage area. Trees use nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium--byproducts of urban living--which can pollute streams

5.) Trees absorb and store CO2 from the air - giving off needed oxygen as a bi-product. "A single mature tree can absorb carbon dioxide at a rate of 48 lbs./year and release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 2 human beings." McAliney, Mike. Arguments for Land Conservation:Documentation and Information Sources for Land Resources Protection, Trust for Public Land, Sacramento, CA, December, 1993

6.) Planting trees and expanding parklands improves the air quality of Los Angeles county. A total of 300 trees can counter balance the amount of pollution one person produces in a lifetime! McAliney, Mike. Arguments for Land Conservation:Documentation and Information Sources for Land Resources Protection, Trust for Public Land, Sacramento, CA, December, 1993

7.) You provided shade in an increasingly warmer environment.

8.) You have created the Natural future for our next generation to learn from, love and live! Thank you!

The following are the people who have signed up as a friend. And in doing so, I am happily planting one tree each year in their name at a State, National Park or "in need" Natural area that will be showcased each summer with photographs and film. The list will be updated weekly so check back for your name if you do not see it yet.

Let's keep the list growing just like the trees. Please refer and friend with the intentions that they will refer a friend as well. Together we can fill our parks with the needed trees to cool the temperature, enhance beautification, create homes for wildlife and remove pollution from the air. Remember: I love to do this so make me work!

Shane
